Insomnia really sucks. It's after 5:30 am. I have not slept yet. I tried going to bed around 2 am this morning, but I quickly realized I was nowhere near tired enough to sleep. Between baby kicking, running to potty every half hour, and Kol working third shift and then first shift...yeah, my internal clock is just a little screwed up right now! I doubt it'll change any time soon either.
It has been a while since I kept a blog. I seem to start these things and eventually loose interest, time, or material to blog about. Maybe this blog will be different. In May the little one will be here. I'm sure plenty of source material will come along with him! Since I'm constantly changing my schedule, I might find more times to actually blog.
Speaking of the little one, he's kicking away again. I haven't decided if this is indicative a football punter or a soccer player! I just can't wait for him to be born. As much as labor and delivery scare me, I am ready to stop sharing my body with the little guy. I miss being able to comfortably climb into bed. This basketball belly makes it tough to get comfortable, be it in bed or in a chair. I have not been doing much driving, and do not plan to change that anytime soon. He's carrying very low, which makes the angle I sit at in the driver's seat uncomfortable.
The next doctor's appointment is coming up on Monday. I'm none too thrilled with the OB practice, but it seems a little late in the game to switch up. I really wanted an OB who would talk to me. I have questions about drugs versus an epidural, what to expect in labor, contractions, delivery...all of those things first-time pregnant women wonder and worry about. This OB practice doesn't take time to answer any of those questions, even when you pin them down. They just tell you to go take the hospital's birth class, which you have to pay extra for (not very practical when we can barely afford our bills right now). Honestly, aside from checking my weight and measuring my belly, I'm not seeing the OB practice do much. They run tests and fail to explain the results. They've already apologized twice for miscommunication. Thank god the OB is just the catcher at delivery. I have more faith in the nurses at Presby than the OB's.
